SCADA Market is Leading its Way for a Robust Growth

Sharmistha Sarkar - Allied Market Research

It is very important for companies such as oil and gas, power generation, transportation, water and much more to be able to receive, manage, remotely monitor & control, and distribute a massive amount of field data. This is why Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems have come into existence and been around. SCADA solutions have evolved over the years from basic tools with limited reach to modern technologies with the ability to process tons of field data every day. Such systems enable an organization to collect and deliver field data and automate tedious and routine tasks. This virtually helps eliminate human error, thereby increasing productivity and improving management of machine failure in real-time.

FreeWave’s Rugged, Low-Power Industrial IoT Solutions Save Lives in Extreme Weather at Mount Washington Observatory

FreeWave Technologies has announced that its ruggedized industrial IoT (IIoT) data radios deliver real-time weather data at the Mount Washington Observatory (MWO), a New Hampshire-based Non-profit research facility. MWO conducts critical weather, atmospheric and climate research that is used for national and global forecasting. The facility also provides vital data that allows local government agencies to assess active conditions in order to protect the lives of crews during search and rescue operations. FreeWave’s family of low-power 900 MHz radios are trusted to deliver the critical data while facing Mount Washington’s extreme weather and harsh conditions.. - Learn More

Revenue for Utility-Offered IoT Intelligent Building Value-Added Services to Reach up to $1.2 Billion in North America in 2026

A new report from Navigant Research examines how value-added services relying on the Internet of Things (IoT) could compete in the overall intelligent buildings market, analyzing the dynamics that are shaping the opportunity for commercial customers.

The IoT is setting the stage for a dramatic rise in energy management capabilities on the customer side of the meter in commercial buildings. Most investments are happening independent of utility programs and represent a new set of opportunities and threats to the traditional regulated utility model, but forward-thinking utilities can still take advantage of the demand for IoT intelligent building technologies and services. According to the report, By 2026, the North American market for utility-offered IoT intelligent building value-added services is expected to grow to an estimated $135 million in revenue under a conservative scenario, or up to $1.2 billion under an aggressive scenario.

SCADA Technology Summit Program Announced

The final program for the 2017 SCADA Technology Summit have been announced. This event is focused on the latest advancements in SCADA and its supporting ICS technologies that provide control, connectivity, security and data acquisition to critical infrastructure and industrial environments.

About
With the advent of “smart” SCADA, networking, IoT and security technology, control system designers, managers and operators must improve their systems to enable them to better monitor/control equipment, optimize value, and harness valuable data to optimize processes. With the explosion of smart connectivity, many organizations are going to be forced to change their way of thinking when it comes to SCADA.

To help you navigate these changes, the SCADA Technology Summit will bring together a cross-section of SCADA and ICS end-users to present, educate and analyze the latest advances in the rapidly changing market of control and automation.
